Since I started turning, many years ago, I have gravitated towards accurately made and mainly small items. Amongst these are clocks, boxes and pens. 
Antique clocks have attracted me since a boy and this has naturally led to designing and making clocks on the lathe.
Decorative lidded containers are a challenge to make as they require good design and accurately fitting lids. There is always that element of intrigue and mystique when taking the lid off to reveal the inside and its contents.
Writing instruments are a relatively new area for me but in the past year I have gained a good insight into what is required to make fine and attractive pens.
In all the above areas I strive to make the best product I can and use wood that is harvested from sustainable forests, be it home grown or from overseas.
